The Next Step

Hello again Palmer Little League Family,

I am sure you all received the email from Little League International asking that we move anything baseball oriented until May 11th. What this means for Palmer Little League is that we will be putting all of our tryouts, games, and practices on hold until then. I will be following the lead of our district and sit tight until all of the Presidents get together and make decisions on what we will do for this upcoming season from Opening Day all the way to All-Stars. Any updates on tryouts and meetings will be sent to you as soon as they are planned.

These are uncharted territories for all of us - baseball/softball will go on and so will life so please stay safe and healthy in the time being. I will leave you with a couple of things for your young players at home and for you to keep them thinking about green grass, hot dogs and the sound of ball cracking off the bat: Always remember baseball is 80% mental and 20% physical. Those players of yours can always work on the mental part until the physical part becomes available to all of us once again. Play catch with your kids, get outside and keep moving – that’s good for all aspects of life. Last, I leave you with the Little League Pledge that every player takes that is a good reminder not just for baseball but for life, in general:

The Little League Pledge

I trust in God
I love my country
And will respect its laws
I will Play Fair
And strive to win
But Win or Lose
I will Always Play My Best

We’re in this together.

Sincerely,
David Combs
President
Palmer Little League
